Kira Kristal Reed became the
division's
secretary in 2004 and the began maintaining the division's
website in 2005. She is an Assistant Professor in the School
of Management at Syracuse University. She received her BS
in Finance at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, her
MBA in Management, Marketing, and Organizational Behavior
from Northwestern University, and her PhD in Management
from the University of Connecticut. Her current research
interests focus on how firms develop and utilize intellectual
capital in performance-enhancing ways. Her teaching
interests are in the areas of strategic amanagement and
organizational change and leadership at the undergraduate
level.

Danny Lee Balfour
was the Division's Website
Director and participated in designing it along with Mark
Hoffman. He is director of, and an Associate Professor in, the
School of Public and Nonprofit Administration at Grand Valley State
University. He received a BA in history from Michigan State University
and a Ph.D. in public administration from the Florida State University.
His teaching and research interests are in the areas of organizational
theory and behavior, social policy, administrative ethics, and the
Holocaust. Professor Balfour has published more than 20 scholarly
articles and book chapters. He is co-author of Unmasking Administrative Evil (Sage Publications, 1998) and winner of
the 1998 Brownlow Book Award from the National Academy of Public
Administration, and the 1998 Best Book Award from the Public and
Nonprofit Division of the Academy of Management. In 1999 he was named a
Distinguished Faculty Member by the Michigan Association of Governing
Boards of Universities and won the Academician of the Year from the
West Michigan Chapter of the American Society for Public
Administration. In April 2000, he received an
Administrative/Professional Service Award from Grand Valley State
University. He served as the managing editor of the Journal of Public Affairs Education from 1995 to 2000. He was elected the
1997 Program Chair of the Public and Nonprofit Division of the Academy
of Management and served as the Division Chair for 1998-1999.

Mark C. Hoffman was responsible for the web site deign
and maintenance until 2005. He is an Assistant Professor at School of
Public and Nonprofit Administration at Grand Valley State University.
He received his Ph.D. in December 1998 from the Maxine Goodman Levin
College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University. He has designed
and developed a number of public-interest web sites, including those
for EcoCity Cleveland, the Cleveland Industrial Retention Initiative,
the Burnham Studio Windows of Trinity Cathedral, the Northern Ohio Data
& Information Service, and the School of Public and Nonprofit
Administration at Grand Valley State University.
