Laurie DiPadova-Stocks has been elected to the ASPA National Council from District 4 for a 3-year term!

Thomas Bryer has accepted a tenure-track Assistant Professor position at the University of Central Florida, College of Health and Public Affairs, Department of Public Administration, beginning Fall 2007.

He will be completing his Ph.D. at University of Southern California, School of Policy, Planning, and Development, in May.

Recently published was the third edition of the original HANDBOOK OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, co-edited by W. Bartley Hildreth, Regents Distinguished Professor in the Hugo Wall School of Urban and Public Affairs and the W. Frank Barton School of Business, at Wichita State University. Bart is conducting a study of the capital market strategies of the Ontario Ministry of Finance for the Canadian Institute of Public Administration.

Emily Barman's (Sociology, Boston University) book, Contesting Communities: The Transformation of Workplace Charity (Stanford University Press, 2006) won the 2007 AFP Skystone Ryan Scholarly Research Prize.

Jim Perry has spent the year on sabbatical in Leuven, Belgium and Seoul, South Korea. He spent the fall and winter at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.  From March to July he is Fulbright Distinguished Lecturer at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.  Jim is working on books about public service motivation and democracy and public service.  In fall 2007, he returns full time to the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, Bloomington.
